Seems that Sony Mobile are making some adjustments in preparation for hte upcoming Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) firmware update.

Today (probably), Sony Mobile released an update for it’s LiveWare Manager app, which in itself isn’t a big deal, but in the app’s “What’s New” we see “Technical and visual adjustments to the Ice Cream Sandwich platform” which suggests that Sony Mobile’s updating it’s apps ready for the big release.

Ice Cream Sandwich will introduce the following functionality.

  • New and Improved UI
  • Home screen folders and favourites
  • Resizeable widgets

Sony Ericsson stated that all 2011 Xperias (and onwards) will be upgradeable to 4.0, so if you have any of the phones listed on SonyMobile.com, you’ll be enjoying the Ice Cream Sandwich experience.
